NEW WINTER HOURS...
Although it hasn't been much of a winter, we are still preserving our WINTER BUSINESS HOURS until May 1st, 2008:
10am-6pm - Mon-Fri
12pm-7pm - Saturdays
CLOSED - Sundays
These are, of course, Eastern Standard Time, so to all of our West Coast customers, this means you'll have to give us a call by no later than 3pm to get a hold of us. Sorry about this, but from January to April, it's our slow season, and since we are a small company, we really can't afford to stay open when there is no business coming in. However, once May kicks around, we'll go back to our regular hours, which keeps us busy till about 9/10pm 7 days a week till the next January.
Of course, this can all change if we all of a sudden experience a surge of business! But we've been open for 10 years, and we know our customers and our business trend, and it's been consistent throughout that time.
Regardless, if you have a technical emergency, you can still reach us 24/7 - and you're call will be forwarded to whichever Service Technician is on duty. THIS IS FOR EMERGENCY SERVICE CALLS ONLY, and NOT for Order Status, Sales Questions, or any other NON-TECHNICAL inquiry. Our tech guys are busy as it is, and they aren't equipped to help with other department inquiries. So, if you can just wait until business hours, it would be greatly appreciated.
You can use our WEB SUPPORT 24/7, and someone will usually respond rather quickly to your questions or inquiries - CLICK HERE FOR THE WEB SUPPORT PORTAL!
Thanks.

The DJPA Shop...
So, the new space is almost finished. Just some minor fixings to finish up. Of course, there is one thing we didn't anticipate with moving into a RAW warehouse loft... and that was DUST. It's everywhere, and it's annoying. Everything has to be covered, or by the next day it's full of dust. Not good. We are working on ways to seal the dust, but we just haven't had much time to sit down and come up with a solution to combat the problem. Everyone says it will eventually go away. Well, we don't want to wait 5 or 10 years. We want the DUST to go away NOW! Any ideas?
Other than that, the retail aspect of the shop isn't all that. Just some basic parts, assorted accessories such as headphones, vinyl cleaners, cables, adapters, etc. We are working on slowly stocking up the retail, but we're still playing catch up with everything else.
I'll post up pictures shortly. We are a bit of a trek out there in E.Williamsburg / Bushwick area, but you know you'll probably wind up living here in a few months. So, might as well come and investigate your new hood.
Jump on the L Train and get off @ Morgan Ave. Walk against street traffic, about 7 minute walk (I timed it), and look for the gray door that has our address on it - 195 MORGAN AVE (next to the 3rd Ward Entrance) - go up 3 flights, and look for suite #302. Welcome to Bushwick - the heart of Brooklyn!
Our NEW Winter Hours are as follows:
M-F 11am-6pm
Sat 12pm-6pm
Sun CLOSED (Hey, we need a break too!)
Shop Tele: 347.410.7802 - in case you want to call before the trek out here!

DJPA Update - Technics SL1200MK6 Turntable, SL1200MK4, Technics Parts
So it seems all is well here @ DJPROLAB central.
Just got this news in... here are some pictures of the newly released Technics SL1200MK6 and SL1210MK6 turntables. In addition, here is the OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE as well (btw, it's in Japanese).
Only released in Japan so far, but plans for a U.S. and European debut are in the works...
Ooh, here's the SL1200MK6K1 - limited to only 1000
========
SL-1200 series birth 35th anniversary is commemorated, in SL-1200MK6-K the limited sale model which the below-mentioned premium 2 point bundled is done with 1,000 limitations is sold from December 12th.
(1) | “Original gold disk” Commemorating series birth 35th anniversary, it is the limited gold disk which it drew up. To use the high-class frame, in addition because also the wall-mounted metallic parts and the stand have done bundled, as an interior of the room you can utilize. |
(2) | “Specially made booklet” Also history and one & the only technology etc which of the SL-1200 series which is supported from DJ of the world is superior are detailed introduction. In addition also interview and the like to the DJ champion of the world was published, the standing matter booklet of all the page 55 luxurious hardcover specifications. |
and just for kicks, here's the SL1200MK4 edition. It features a 78RPM feature, as well as detachable RCA cables! (Not sure why the RCA feature wasn't transfered over to the SL1200MK5 turntables, would have been great)...
You know you want one!
On to other news. We are having some issues with back order parts, but nothing major. Most of it is on the manufacturing side, and we can't do anything about it. We are working to try and get our web site to reflect current inventory levels in our shop, however, it is very hard especially for small companies like ours. The only thing we can do is try and get anything that has sold out or is on back order, back in stock as quickly as possible. Also, since our store, the service center, as well as the online shops all share the same inventory, we might have 10 quantity of a particular item in the morning, then by close, the part is sold out! So, it can get frustrating, and believe me, the last thing we want to do is frustrate customers who ordered a part and expect it to ship out immediately, instead of waiting for it to come back in stock. But we are looking for ways to keep things as updated as possible. Or at least notify you of the back order delay in a timely manner.
In addition, it seems parts for the SL1200MK2 series turntable are slowly being discontinued. It seems they are starting with the major electrical components such as the circuit boards and the IC's (Integrated Circuits), which are pretty much the brains of this turntable. There are 3 major IC's on the main board, and 1 of them has been discontinued with no alternative replacement. What does this mean for you? Well, if you have a Technics Turntable, model SL1200MK2 or SL1210MK2 and you need IC201, tough luck. It seems it is part of a global plan to slowly phase out the MK2 and MK5 turntables and get us to update to the M5G and possibly the newly released MK6 turntables. All of the PC Boards were discontinued a little over a year ago (ROHS compliance), and slowly more major components were being discontinued.
There are also some other parts which are being discontinued as well. Here is the list thus far (all major components!)...
(PCB = Printed Circuit Board)
PCB - Main Drive Board - (we can still get these, if you want, but they are costly @ $250+)
PCB - RCA / Tonearm Section - (we have an alternative for this)
PCB - 33 / 45 / Start / Stop Operation
PCB - Strobe Illuminator
PCB - Pitch Control
IC302-MN4011B - NAND Gate, IC
D1-SVDS1RBA40 - Diode / Rectifier
We'll keep you updated on other parts as they become unavailable.
- T.O.
